Course Description

The Marathon will start outside the main gate to Makoura College. A quick out and back for 400 metres along Makora Rd then turn left into Johnston St, then right into Colombo Road, past Lakeview School, then right into Te Ore Ore Road. The course turns right by the sub station into Watsons Rd, right into Stronvar Rd and down the Lee-Pakaraka Rd. Turn right at the Martinborough-Masterton Road and head back to Makoura College, turn left into Makora Rd, then do it all again.

To finish turn left into Makora Rd, left into the school grounds and through the finishing chute.

Half marathoners just do one lap.

The 10km competitors  follow the marathon course, before heading along the Waipoua river, up Blair St and past the hospital, turn around approximately 50m past the 1st drink station and then head home via scenic Henley Lake and the way you came.  Do not repeat the 400m up and down Makora Rd.

We are concerned about your safety out there and have a Safety Management Plan.
