History

This is the 22nd year the Series has been run.

In 1981 we competed on Saturday afternoons but as more people started working weekends and recognising that this was also held over the main summer months we moved to Sunday mornings.

The first race was on Saturday 12 December 1981

and here is the race report in the Times - Age Sports Lift Out the following Friday.  (Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture)

Bernard Teahan ... did well for 5th        Rex Dowding ... the form of a winner

Brian Hamlin ... qualified for A grade when 8th in.    Ray Wallis ... first of all the veterans to finish
